At least, that’s what current culture wants everyone to believe. It’s a new year, so let’s start new things. Or re-start old things. I’m not actually usually one for New Year’s Resolutions, mainly because I do believe, like my friend Teagan, that you shouldn’t need to have a New Year to start a goal. I do set goals for myself regularly throughout the year and don’t “wait” for the new year to start. If you feel something in your life needs changing – change it!
Some of my current “goals” I actually set earlier in December. They’re just continuing forward. Some of them include organization, painting, and finishing renovations of our condo. Continuing our journey of eating healthy and exercising more. Spending more time reading & writing and less time watching movies & wasting time on the net. These are things we’ve been working toward last year and plan on continuing this year.
I have, however, for the first time on New Year’s, actually set myself two “Resolutions”. One of them you can read about on my “Project 365″ page. The other is quite simple. Last year met many challenges, stress, frustrations, and overall “blah”-ness. It also had many joyous, fun, ridiculous, and happy moments and memories. As probably each person’s year did. We all have good and bad moments. I plan to be as positive as I can be about every aspect of my life this year – even during the “bad” moments.
So my goal for 2012, the big one, is:

Apart from goals, I also have some things on a 2012 “To Do” list. Things I haven’t tried but want to try, that I don’t consider “Resolutions”. What are some of the new things I’m going to do this year? Take a look:
- Get a tattoo
- Go on a road trip with Pete and our best friends (Lee & Jenn)
- Try a type of sushi I’ve never tried before that actually has some type of “raw” fish
- Write random letters and send them via snail mail to family or friends in far away places
- Climb a mountain
What are your goals, plans, aspirations, or ideas for your life in 2012?
