I have always loved the Autumn. As one of my favourite seasons of the year, I have never felt like Alberta has had much to offer in the range of colours and smells and the general FEEL of my childhood falls. This year has been a little bit different. Since I’ve lived here, we’ve never had a warmer fall season, nor such a range in colours!

Pete and I have certainly been taking advantage of this weather and this season.

We have been dedicated to making some very “Fall” recipes, including Baked Potato, Bacon, and Cheese soup AND Butternut Squash soup. The next soup on my list? French Onion!

We’ve been making and enjoying delicious Pumpkin Chai Tea from David’s Tea while reading. I am currently reading (and almost finished) the first book of the Game of Thrones series, A Song of Ice and Fire. The series is very political-intrigue fantasy told, chapter to chapter, from different characters’ points of view. It is EXCELLENT so far.

We have enjoyed quite a few walks, and plan on more than a few more, as we begin October and hope the weather stays in its current state.

Some of our other plans for this fall season include more of what we’ve already been doing, but especially some more Fall-esque recipies, getting together with friends and family, planning for our upcoming Halloween party, carving pumpkins over Skype with our best friends (Lee and Jenn), a last Farmer’s Market trip, a trip to Fort Edmonton Park, and, of course, my regular activities (Yoga, Running, Reading) I’m excited for all that this so-far lovely month might offer us!
